A new solo show opens on Nov 16th at Tromsø Fine Arts Society in northern Norway. The show titled "Frykten for å mislykkes" ("The Fear of Failure") will present several new works, including a video/short film with the working title Reconstruction, a site specific sculpture/installation piece and woodcuts. In addition two earlier videos will also be included in the show; Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) and Portrait of a man reminiscent of my father.

Mattias Härenstam picks and talks about Tritych May- June 1973 by Francis Bacon for the new issue (no 7 2012) of Norwegian art mag Billedkunst. A special presentation of Festival Miden in Athens curated by Olga Daniylopoulou (art critic, Director of Jannis & Zoe Spyropoulos Foundation, Athens) will be shown at the new exhibition space of La Soirée de Votanique (Kastorias 37/ Votanikos, Athens) from December 1st, until December 28th 2012.
The presentation includes 7 screening programs (1 for each day of the week) in repetition. Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) by Mattias Härenstam is shown in the Wednesday program titled "2084".
Mattias Härenstam has been invited to show Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) at this years edition of the shortfilm festival KORT at KinoKino in Sandnes, Norway. It is the third edition of the festival and it takes place from Nov 29th - Dec 2nd. More info at their webpage.
This year The Third VAFA (Video Art For All) - organized by Art For All Society (AFA), Fundação Oriente and supported by SKY21, will take place at Casa Garden and SKY21 in Macau from the 1st of December 2012 till the 6th of January 2013. VAFA’ s opening will be held at Casa Garden on the 30th of November 2012 at 6:30pm in the evening, in which we will present our exhibition and a screening of this year’ s 25 finalists’ works, including Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) by Mattias Härenstam
The December edition of Public Art Screens' program Sign of the times will show Shopaholic by Catti Brandelius, Sparloop by Gunilla Klingberg and Supermarket by Mattias Härenstam. The screenings will be ongoing throughout the month at different public spaces in and around Stavanger. The videoworks were provided by Filmform, Stockholm. More info at Public Art Screens.
Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) has been selected for KLEX 2012 - The 3rd Kuala Lumpur Experimental Film and Video Festival by curator Kok Siew-Wai. The festival takes place 21st - 25th November. More at the KLEX webpage.
NABROAD will present works by artists Catrine Thorstensen, Yngvild Rolland,
Jet Pascua, Mattias Härenstam and Heidi C Morstang at Video Guerrilha taking place in the streets of Brazil’s largest city São Paulo 21-23. November 2012, as well as in Rio (January 2013) and in Brasília (April 2013). Mattias Härenstam will contribute with Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden).

The program selected by Wifried Agricola de Cologne will be screened at Laznia Centre for Contemporary Art on Nov 22nd at 18h.
